Pro Bono Projects: Be Part Of It
If you've been here for a while, you may have seen us do a few “charity projects”. Our first was for a sweet girl named Evelyn who was going through cancer at the age of 12. These projects are extremely important to me, as my sister died from cancer at the age of 12. I am aware that a new bedroom won't take away the hurt, but it is somehow healing to come home to a beautiful space when you're going through such a terrible time.
EVELYN’S ROOM
I posted a story on instagram and was blown away by the donations that came pouring in to help us with both labour and product in order to re-design Evelyn's room as well as her sister Harper's room and a little refresh of their parent's (Heather and Mike) bedroom.
You can read about it below and see the photos from the reveal.
Why am I telling you about this? Well… we're doing another pro bono project and would be so very grateful if you'd help!
MEET SAWYER
Heather reached out to me about helping Ashley and Kaylen redesign their son Sawyer's room. Sawyer was in the hospital at the same time as Evelyn… he was diagnosed with cancer at six months old.
Sadly, Sawyer passed away about six months ago and they'd like to move their one year old son Myles into his bedroom but feel nervous about it as they didn't want to erase Sawyer's memory from the room.
I immediately knew this would be our next pro bono project (it feels weird calling it a charity project). My staff donates their time, we get as much as we can donated in product and labour… but in the end we still need donations to make all these things happen.
That's where you come in! We'd be thrilled if you'd consider donating to help us redesign what will be Myle's room, almost five year old Bennett's room, and do an update on their parent's, Ashley and Kaylen's, bedroom!
Thank you!
Thank you for being part of our community. I'm grateful for the relationships we've built over the last 22 years and that I can reach out to you and ask for help. Your support means the world. Please follow us on Instagram as we share the design, the donations, and the journey of this amazing project.
